The EO4Nature project develops a web-based platform designed to monitor the environmental objectives of the Federal Action Plan on Nature-based Solutions for Climate and Biodiversity. The platform offers extensive use of earth observation data and provides customized services to monitor the response of locally restored ecosystems that reflect the specific needs of the future users such as government agencies, municipalities and NGOs. To ensure the platform aligns with user requirements, it is developed through transparent participatory processes involving the users.
In order to guarantee a long term low-threshold application, FERN.Lab creates collaboratively with its partner ignite user-orientated training materials that are designed to facilitate the ongoing implementation of the provided services. The training portfolio includes a variety of didactic formats to cover different user’s knowledge levels, application scenarios and to support the independent skill acquisition to utilize earth observation data for ecosystem monitoring.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
